The ban preventing Emirates Airlines from operating in the country has finally been lifted by the Federal Government of Nigeria.

This was announced by the Minister of Aviation, Hadi Sirika yesterday via his Twitter handle.

According to the Minister’s tweet, “the United Arab Emirates, UAE, has written to state that they agreed to issue visas to Nigerians, consequently decision has

been reached to allow Emirates to fly into Nigeria, and commencement of the Visa issuance is condition precedent”.

It would be recalled that on September 18th, 2020 Hadi Sirika announced the ban of Emirates flights to Nigeria.

The Federal Government also had earlier vowed to enforce the principle of reciprocity in granting permission to airlines to resume operations.
