Just days after the comparison between Governor Soludo and Alex Otti, a segment of the office of the Special Adviser to the Anambra Governor on Political Matters, Dr. Alex Obiogbolu, fell victim to fire on Tuesday. The flames engulfed the office located within the Anambra Government House, Agu Awka, Awka. Swiftly, the Fire Service dispatched two firefighting trucks to tackle the blaze. According to a source within the office, the fire originated from the electricity junction box.
Upon rushing back to the scene, Obiogbolu lamented the unfortunate incident while expressing gratitude to the Fire Service for their prompt response.
Reacting to the incident, Mr. Chukwudi Chiketa, the Anambra Fire Chief, confirmed that a power surge caused the inferno. Chiketa urged residents to ensure they switch off their electrical appliances when not in use and emphasized the importance of having fire extinguishers in both homes and offices.
“It was due to a power surge that we managed to arrive in time and prevent the fire from causing extensive damage to the building or spreading to neighboring areas,” stated Chiketa. He stressed the necessity for individuals to be diligent in switching off electrical appliances when not in use and underscored the importance of having fire extinguishers readily available to contain fires before the arrival of the fire service.
