Anambra State Government Congratulates Nigeria On 60th Anniversary

As today marks the 60th year Nigeria gained independence, the Government of Anambra State has congratulated the country on it’s diamond jubilee anniversary.

This was made known by Governor Willie Obiano who spoke during a statewide broadcast to commemorate the independence celebration at the Governor’s Lodge, Onitsha.

With the Corona virus scourge still in place, the Governor noted that the State will observe low key celebration  with dignity and solemnity. He also expressed gratitude to God for guiding the people to safety.

Furthermore, Governor Willie Obiano also expressed hope that Nigeria having  survived circumstances including insurgency, violent clashes between farmers and herders, among others, will still survive present challenges.

In terms of the development of Anambra, he stated  that the state which clocked twenty nine years in August, has become the shining star of the east. He cited the examples of advancements in agriculture, infrastructure including the ongoing international conference center, Awka city Stadium, Anambra airport, among others, which are some of the  legacy projects Ndi Anambra should be proud of.

Governor Obiano, while urging  Ndi Anambra to  be part of building   Anambra of our dreams, said that the state is  growing at progressive pace, as the Aku Luo Uno Call is yielding fruits.

He  explicated that civilization begins with people. Thus the will environment improve once people change their thought process which manifests in the way people think, the way they see world and the way they interact with others.

Rounding up, the Governor urged Ndi Anambra to uphold all COVID-19 safety protocols while celebrating and pledged to remain committed  in implementing his economic blueprint
