Popular comedian Babatunde Omidina, known as Baba Suwe, has died after a long battle with an illness.
Baba Suwe gained fame largely by featuring in numerous Yoruba movies for decades, bagged many awards. The news of his death was made known on November 22, 2021.
Baba Suwe was born on August 22, 1958, and was married to comedienne Omoladun Omidina, who died in September 2009. According to the late actor’s first son Adesola Omidina, who confirmed the incident, said in a chat with Best of Nollowood, “Burial arrangements for the late Alhaji Babatunde Nurudeen Omidina (a.k.a Baba Suwe).
“Interment will commence at his residence, 26, Oluwatimiro Street, Ewu Elepe Bustop, Ijede Road, Ikorodu, Lagos on Thursday November 25, 2021 at 10am prompt.
“The final funeral ceremony will be announced later. Baba Suwe is survived by children, grandchildren, an aged mother and family.”

However, Best Of Nollywood on Monday night said Islamic clerics who have been contacted have revealed that they will not be officiating at the burial and interment proceedings of an embalmed corpse.
