Anambra State Government Intensifies Road Rehabilitation Across The State.

Commissioner for Works in Anambra State, Mr Marcel Ifejiofor has reiterated the commitment of the state government in restoration of dilapidated roads in the state.

 

Engr. Ifejiofor, while examining some of the roads being rehabilitated at Agulu-Nnobi said that the government would guarantee that every single rural access road would be repaired before Christmas to ensure safe motoring by inhabitants and travelers passing through the state.

He noted that Gov. Willie Obiano had instructed the state ministry of works to fix potholes on all bad spots across the state and has personally coordinated the recovery of bad roads.

The commissioner stated that “Dilapidated road’s recovery has been on; we’re guaranteeing the people that all road hallways over the state will be fixed by construction companies that we have sent across the state.”

He announced that the contractor handling the Enugwu Ukwu-Nise-Nibo-Agu Awka Road had since started asphalting a few portions of the road, while full reconstruction work has commenced at Nwagu Agulu-Nnobi road.

 

Engr. Ifejiofor, thanked motorists for their understanding and confidence in the state government while praying for reasonable climate, promising that the road rehabilitation will continue in various parts of the state unhindered.

Speaking to newsmen, a driver, Mr. Onyilofor hailed the state government for thorough restoration of bad roads in the state, stating that majority of the streets he had plied of recent wear new looks and advised the state government to sustain the policy.
