Tony Olofu Assumes Office as New Commissioner of Police in Anambra State

Mr Tony Olofu has assumed office as the new Commissioner of police in Anambra State. Transferred from a directorate at the office of the National Security Adviser, Mr Tony Olofu replaces Chris Owolabi who has been transferred to the force headquarters in Abuja.

Mr Tony Olofu will serve as the 31st Commissioner of police in Anambra ahead of the forthcoming Anambra elections following threats from separatists that no elections shall be conducted in the state. DSP Toochukwu Ikenga, Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of the command made the disclosure in a statement in Awka on Friday.

Until his redeployment to Anambra, Mr Tony Olofu served as the Director Operations and Intelligence National Centre for the Control of Small Arms and Light Weapons at the Office of the National Security Adviser in Abuja.
