Three Killed As Bomb Blast Rocks Kogi Monarch’s Palace Ahead Of Buhari’s Visit

At least three people have been killed as bomb blast rocked the palace of the paramount traditional ruler and Ohinoyi of Ebiraland, Dr Ado Ibrahim on Thursday in Okenne Local Government Area of Kogi State. 

This is coming few hours to the arrival of President Muhammadu Buhari to commission some projects in the North-Central state.

An eyewitness reported that a car with explosives was driven into the palace that morning and shortly after, the car exploded.

Police operatives of the Anti-Bomb Unit were at the scene of the incident to address the situation.

The cause of the explosion is however not clear as the authorities are yet to provide details about the incident. Meanwhile, sources claimed that it might be connected with the refusal of the monarch to accept the new palace reportedly built for him by Governor Yahaya Bello.

The identity of the driver has not yet been ascertained as at the time of filing this report.
