6th Coronation Anniversary: In You I Derive My Strength – Obi Issele-Uku To Subjects

The cerebral Monarch of Issele-Uku Kingdom and Member of Delta State Council of Traditional Rulers, HRM Agbogidi Obi Nduka has appreciated his subjects for their immense support and cooperation to him since ascending the throne of his forebears, adding that in them he derives the strength to carry on with his developmental agenda.

He made this assertion during the celebration of his 6th Coronation Anniversary on Thursday 29th December 2022, which held at the newly built Royal Hall inside Issele-Uku Royal Palace.

According to Obi Nduka, “You are my strength; you have continued to give me energy to work for the development of Issele-Uku. I feel pleased that once again since my Coronation, you have all gathered to celebrate today as Issele-Uku Day.
Obi Issele-Uku“I don’t know what to say or do to represent how happy I am to be your King. You have made me proud by honouring me in unique ways. You have highly revered our culture and traditions to the admiration of others.

“We have remained in peace and unity, loving one another in brotherly associations and collective interest meetings for our community’s common good. By your cooperation and solidarity with one another, and me in particular, we have made Issele-Uku a model for others to emulate.

“I want to say that I am grateful for all you Issele-Uku sons and daughters both at home and in Diaspora are doing to advance the development of our God-given community. What I have for you is huge appreciation. And it is my prayer that God and our Ancestors in their infinite mercies, continue to bless the works of your hands, that year in and year out, we shall continue to celebrate in good health, joy and prosperity. Thank you for coming to celebrate my anniversary; Happy New Year ahead”, Obi Nduka said.

Basking in the euphoria of the Obi Nduka’s 6th Coronation Anniversary, some prominent elders of the community took to the stage to eulogize the Royal Father for his sterling leadership qualities and impeccable achievements since his ascension to the throne of his fathers.

The Anya-Obi of Issele-Uku and the Regent that oversaw Obi Nduka’s coronation, Chief Dominic Egbune paid glowing tributes to the Issele-Uku Monarch, describing him as one of the best things that have happened in his lifetime.

Addressing him as Dooba, the octogenarian retired banker prayed for the longevity of the King while asking God to endow him more with wisdom and grace to continue to rule well.

For the Diokpa Shinne of Issele-Uku and Chairman of Obi Nduka’s Coronation Committee, Engr. Frank Mordi, he was elated that Issele-Uku has indeed been blessed with a king that is so delightedly loved by all.

He commended all the individuals, groups and segments of Issele-Uku that are overseeing various developmental projects in the community, urging them to continue to support the Royal Father for more divine benefits.

Singing an ancient song of eulogy in honour of Obi Nduka, the renowned Issele-Uku historian and highly respected Diokpa in Umueze Issei, Prince Chris Akeh described him as Royalty with a difference.

He affirmed that Issele-Uku has remained first class in culture and traditions by virtue of a treaty signed on February 20, 1896, maintaining that the coming of Obi Nduka has made Issele-Uku culture more remarkable, meaningful and interesting to all and sundry.

The high point of the ceremony was the launching of the 6th Coronation Anniversary Calendar with Mr. Rex Unobukwu as Chief Launcher and Prince Mike Akeh as Co-Chief Launcher.

The creme-de-la-creme of Issele-Uku sons and daughters who were present at the Anniversary celebration included; Diokpa Isimchei Okonkwo (Ogbelani of Issele-Uku), Diokpa Shinne of Issele-Uku, Engr.
