The National Mathematics Centre of Nigeria (NMC) has crowned Miss Faith Odunsi of Ambassador College, Otta in Ogun State Nigeria as the “MATHEMATICS QUEEN” for her outstanding performance in the National Olympiads Competition as well as the Global Open Mathematics Competition.

Miss Faith Odunsi won our hearts in 2018 when she solved 19 mathematics questions in 60 seconds, at the Cowbellpedia Mathematics Competition and became the best girl in mathematics.
26 students of both senior and junior secondary Schools across the country were also given awards in different categories in mathematics science.

15-year-old Nigerian student, Faith Odunsi, also beat the United Kingdom, the United States, China, and others in a global math competition to become the World’s best in 2021. As the winner of the Global Open Mathematics competition, Odunsi excelled in all rounds of the competition and didn’t think she would be announced the winner until she answered more questions than her competitors in the final round.

“My heart raced but I felt relieved,” she shared in an interview with  The Punch. Miss Faith says she has her father to thank for the math genes.

Despite the tough competition, Odunsi managed to win by a 40-point margin. This achievement is something that Odunsi says makes her feel “happy and honored.”
Miss Faith Odunsi not only walked away with the title, as the winner of the competition but also secured a $1,000 prize.

Congratulations Miss Faith Odunsi.
