Following the failure of the Super Eagles of Nigeria to qualify for the 2022 FIFA World Cup, the team’s interim manager Austin Eguavoen has stepped down.
The Eagles played out a 1-1 draw against the Black Stars of Ghana on Tuesday evening in Abuja. A result that meant the team would miss out on the upcoming World Cup in Qatar.
The team’s failure to qualify seemed to have caused a ripple effect as the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has now withdrawn the two-and-half year contract offered to the coach and terminated the appointment of the entire technical crew.
