Ever since his declaration of interest to become president of Nigeria, the life and times of the presidential candidate of the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has never been more openly scrutinised. This intense scrutiny has opened up the can of worms that is the past of Asiwaju.
Before even winning the APC primary election, there had been various mysterious aspects of Tinubu’s life that many Nigerians demanded answers to. For instance; “where is Tinubu actually from?”, “What schools did he attend in Nigeria before leaving for Chicago?”, “Why does he have no known colleagues from his past before politics?”, “How old is he?”
The list of unanswered questions have been endless. While there have been many attempts by various spokespersons from the Tinubu campaign organisation to spin different narratives and cover up his past, the unscrupulous and blatantly dishonest claims by Tinubu’s supporters have raised more questions than they have provided answers.
The most recent and shockingly despicable revelation about Bola Ahmed Tinubu is his past involvement in a drug smuggling cartel as a bagman in the late 80s to the early 90s.
An expose had been written and published by popular investigative journalist David Hundeyin on the atrocities committed by Bola Ahmed Tinubu while living in Chicago over 30 years ago. Although the article caused a stir online, it appeared not to concern too many Nigerians, well not until recently .

The same expose has now been turned into a half-hour documentary by David Hundeyin, increasing the level of awareness on Tinubu’s grimy past and highlighting why he is unfit to run for the highest office of the land.
The Peoples Democratic Party has taken advantage of this revelation and said that it has every option to challenge the candidacy of the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, including his eligibility to contest the 2023 general elections.
This was made known by the Publicity Secretary of the party, Debo Ologunagba, at a press conference held at the party’s Secretariat on Sunday in Abuja.
The Nigerian election umpire, INEC has not made public any attempt to look into the implications of this new information on Tinubu’s candidacy but there has been increasing pressure to force Tinubu to drop out of the race to be president.
