7 Veteran Nollywood Actors Who Stopped Acting And Where They Are Now

Nigeria’s movie industry, Nollywood, has produced numerous talented actors who have become household names across the continent and beyond. However, some of these actors, for various reasons, have stepped away from acting and moved on to different pursuits.

Here are some veteran Nollywood actors who are no longer acting and where they are now:

#1 Saint ObiBorn Obinna Nwafor, Saint Obi is a Nigerian actor, producer, and director. He was one of the most popular actors in Nollywood in the 1990s, starring in several hit movies such as “Sakobi” and “State of Emergency”. However, the good actor quit acting in 2002 to focus on movie production while also running a non-governmental organization.Ā 

#2 Eucharia AnunobiEucharia Anunobi is a veteran Nollywood actress who appeared in several hit movies in the 1990s and early 2000s.Ā  She came into the limelight for her role in the movie series Glamour Girls IIĀ in 1996 and has gone on to star in over 90 movies includingĀ Abuja ConnectionĀ andĀ Letters to a Stranger. she stopped acting in 2012 after she became a pastor. She now runs a ministry and is also a motivational speaker.

#3 Hanks AnukuNollywood actorHanks Anuku is a veteran Nollywood actor who was known for his role as a villain in action movies. He was popular in Nollywood in the 1990s and early 2000s and starred in several hit movies such as “The Senator” and “Desperadoes”. However, he left Nigeria in 20213 and moved to Ghana to continue his acting career. He was later rumored to be battling mental sickness in 2022.Ā 

#4 Regina AskiaNollywood actorRegina Askia is a popular actress in Nollywood in the 1990s, starring in several hit movies such as “Most Wanted” and “Full Moon”. She stopped acting in 2004 and relocated to America to focus on her career in healthcare. She is now a registered nurse and a healthcare advocate in the United States.


#5 Victoria InyamaNollywood actorVictoria Inyama is a veteran Nollywood actress who became popular for her roles in romantic movies such as ‘Love from Above’ and ‘Orange Girl’. She has not appeared in a movie in several years, and she is now based in the United Kingdom, where she is a counselor and mental health advocate.

#6 Pat AttahNollywood actorPat Attah is a Nigerian actor who was a prominent and adored figure in the Nollywood scene during the late 90s and early 2000s. He was renowned for his on-screen charisma and talent and earned the reputation of being a certified lover boy. He is now based in Germany, where he works as a musician and photographer.

#7 Sandra AchumsSandra Achums is a veteran Nollywood actress who appeared in several hit movies in the 1990s and early 2000s. She left the industry in 2006, and is now based in Germany, where she currently lives with her husband and children.Ā
