The All Progressive Congress flag bearer for the 2023 Presidential elections, Bola Tinubu, has given his words to bring a positive change to the Nigerian Police Force if he is elected as the president of the country in the coming elections. He said the change is for better efficiency in the Force.

He stated that he will change the narrative of police officers being used as aides or securities for VIPS (Very Important Personality). He mentioned that his plan is to substitute officers who have been picked for such duties with officers of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps.

This was made mention of in the manifesto that was made available to only The PUNCH on Friday.

According to the reports from Punch, the first set of issues on his scale of preference are; national security, economy, agriculture, power, oil and gas, transportation and education. The manifesto which had 80 pages was titled “Renewed Hope 2023 – Action Plan for a Better Nigeria.”

Concerning the reform of the Police Force, Tinubu said, “We shall boost the public confidence in the Nigeria Police Force and other internal security agencies by increasing recruitment and providing high-tech, non-lethal equipment with corresponding manpower development schemes.
