Some buildings in the Igisogba community of Akure South Local Government Area of  Ondo State were destroyed on Sunday after a heavy downpour of rain

This came barely one week after a similar incident occurred at Oke Agbe in Akoko North-West Local Government Area of the state.

At Igisogba, it was gathered that the rainstorm affected private buildings, churches, shops and public property, while some electricity poles were also damaged by the rainstorm.

A source stated that about 40 buildings had their roofs blown off, while the entire community had been thrown into darkness following the havoc wreaked on electric poles.

“The unfortunate incident has also paralyzed business and social activities in the community,” the source said.

Speaking on the incident, the Chairman, Igisogba Landlords Association, Mr Ebenezer Ojo, confirmed that the incident wreaked havoc on the community and urged the state government to assist the victims.
