The Minister of Labour and Employment, Chris Ngige has secured the release of two princes from the Suleja Correctional Centre,  Niger State over the weekend.

Olisa and Onyeka Eze, the two princes of Ukpo Kingdom, Anambra State were allegedly detained for three months over a business misunderstanding with billionaire businessman, Prince Arthur Eze.

According to a statement from Chris Ngige’s office, the release of the princes from the correctional facility was due to the intervention of the minister.

After their release, the released princes accompanied by Mr Adulrahman Musa, an official from the correctional centre later visited the minister’s office to commend him for the intervention.

The Ukpo princes hailed Ngige for being “a humanist who stands against injustice and a worthy in-law of the Ukpo community.”

The statement added: “We spent months in prison. We spent our Christmas and New year in detention away from our loved ones, in harsh conditions over false charges. We are ever grateful to Sen. Ngige who took interest in the matter and facilitated our freedom”.
