Lagos State Appoints MC Oluomo as Chairman of Parks Management Committee

The Lagos State Government has named Musiliu Akinsanya also known as MC Oluomo as the chairman of the newly constituted Parks Management Committee.

This appointment comes less than 24 hours after MC Oluomo was sacked by the leadership of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW).

According to the Lagos State Commissioner for Information and Strategy,Mr Gbenga Omotoso, this new committee will oversee the affairs of all motor parks and garages in the state and will report to the Ministry of Transport.

Also, a former AIG of Police, Hakeem Odumosu, will serve as the Liaison Officer between the government and the committee. Some other members of the committee include Dr. Taiwo Salaam, who will serve as the secretary of the committee and Sulyman Ojora as the Deputy Chairman.

The statement released from the Lagos State Government reads in part,

“The Lagos State Government has set up a committee to oversee the affairs of all motor parks in the state. This is in fulfillment of the Government’s promise to ensure that events in the National Union of Road Transport Workers are not allowed to threaten law and order.”

“The Government on March 10 suspended NURTW operations in all parks and garages, following the tension sparked by some events in the union.”
