Nigerian Entrepreneur and Investment banker, Atedo Peterside has admonished Nigerians to beware of those who are trying to turn the northern people against the Southerners, and Christians against the Moslems.

The Stanbic IBTC boss stated this in response to a flier making round that Peter Obi, the Labour Party Presidential Candidate, does not believe in oil project oil in the north.

The flier reads, “I don’t believe in Project oil in the North – Peter Obi in an interview with Journalists in Ibadan on 23 November 2022 (sic).”

Peterside, however, urged Nigerians to regard the news as fake.

In his word, “Fake news everywhere. Beware of persons trying to turn North against South, East against West, Christian against Moslem, etc. They are all charlatans and so we must not allow them to divide us.” he said.

Meanwhile, a Spokesperson of the Obi/Datti Campaign, Ndi Kato also reacted to the fliers via his Twitter handle.

“Our attention has been drawn to this mischievous flyer being circulated in the North. H.E Peter bi did not speak with journalists nor did he mention any such issue while speaking at the rally in Ibadan,” he wrote.
