Chief Onyeka Onwurah has donated medical equipment to the Primary Healthcare center in Orumba North Council Area.
Dr. Simeon Onyemaechi, the Special Adviser to Governor Willie Obiano who was present at the occasion reiterated the State government’s resolve to ensure that the remote areas of the state get access to affordable health care services.
This equipment procured by Chief Onyeka Onwurah was handed over to the Director, Primary Health Care Services, Orumba North Local Government Area by Dr. Onyemaechi; to help the State government revive the health care facility.
According to Dr. Onyemaechi, Chief Onwurah had also paid a year insurance premium over one hundred people from his community. More so, he made the donations owing to the fact that the only hospital built by Governor Obiano in the community was not functioning optimally, hence the need to change the status quo so the people can have access to quality healthcare services.
On his part, Chief Onwurah lauded Chief Obiano for building the hospital during his tenure, as other previous administrations had abandoned the community outright.
With the Governor currently constructing a road in the area, Chief Onwurah assured that he will equally add monetary incentives to all the health workers that will work in the facility.
Speaking during the vote of thanks, Dr. Chike Ohamaobi, the Orumba North local government Director of Primary Health acknowledged Governor Obiano for remembering the community and assured that the equipment will assist in easing the plight of the people.
Meanwhile, construction of a borehole in the healthcare center which houses a security house and perimeter fence by Chief Onwurah is ongoing.
