At the forefront of the Great Anambra Youth Renaissance Initiative’s (GAYRI) objective, is the goal of creating a connecting bridge between both the government and the governed.  GAYRI which was formed owing to the yearnings of zealous youths in Anambra for a better society is a Non-profit and Non-governmental organization registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission Abuja.

With the topsy-turvy nature of the society where lives are no more held sacred, suspicion and hatred pervades the air and where values and morals have been relegated to the background, GAYRI has taking it upon itself through its programmes to ensure that these ills are eliminated in a gradual and steady manner.

GAYRI’s nascence became inevitable given the inconsistencies in the various programmes of the successive government in the state whereby basic amenities had become a luxury; and also the threat to the survival of businesses. To this end, GAYRI moves to lobby and facilitate progressive change in the society.

In terms of the aims and objectives of GAYRI, the organization, apolitical in nature seeks to recreate politically conscious youth that will in turn harness the abundant human and material resources in order to make the society a safe haven.

It has been responsible for educating the youths through the provision of services and leadership to meet the emerging demands of young people and their families in the community.

GAYRI has also been at the forefront of promoting social change by providing opportunities for youths to give both their time and talent to improve their communities and the society at large. In addition, the organization has been responsible for training youths to master their craft, consequently becoming successful entrepreneurs.

Some of the achievements of GAYRI hinges on the successful implementation of its programmes. The organization whose mission is to help the youths in the State discover their purpose in life; thereby contributing meaningfully to nation building has embarked on some programmes to this effect.

Earlier in August 14th, GAYRI planned to  hold a seminar on Cultism, Drug abuse, Rape and fraudulent activities in collaboration with the Nigerian Police and the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) but it was postponed indefinitely. However both the Police and NDLEA issued a letter of acceptance to help facilitate the seminar.

Furthermore, GAYRI held a development programme which engaged selected youths from the 21 Local Government areas in the state. The aim of the programme was to empower these youths in agricultural practices which on the long run will be beneficial to the participants and the state as a whole, in terms of food security.

With reference to membership, GAYRI is a hub and a progressive movement with sophisticated people in different fields of human endeavor who are determined to change the narratives in Anambra state.

It has a strong presence in all the 21 Local Government Areas in Anambra State. In addition, GAYRI also have dedicated persons who are of impeccable character at the helm of affairs in both the central and Local Government level.

On 8th August 2020 GAYRI inaugurated some members as Executives and 21 others as Youth Captains and Deputy Youth Captains of the 21 Local Government Areas in Anambra State. The event took place at the East End hotel, Awka.

The Great Anambra Youth Renaissance Initiative is fueled by the desire to be a brand name in facilitating Human Capital Development for the sustainable growth and productivity of not just Anambra but Nigeria as a whole.
