Former President-General of Amansea Development Union in Anambra State, Chief Cajetan Nwokike, fell victim to unknown gunmen on Thursday morning, meeting a tragic end less than two months after the assassination of President-General of Umuoji, Chief Silas Onyima, in his own bedroom. The news of Nwokike’s demise was disclosed by Omife I, the National President of the Association of Past Presidents-General of Anambra State, in a statement forwarded to journalists on Friday.

In the statement, it was revealed that Nwokike was allegedly shot dead by assailants while performing his traditional morning prayer of breaking kola nut. Two young men reportedly entered his house and fatally shot him at close range, instantly ending his life. The Association of Past Presidents-General of Anambra State (APPAS) expressed deep concern over Nwokike’s death, emphasizing the need for Governor Soludo and security agencies to spare no effort in uncovering the perpetrators behind these heinous acts of violence.

The statement also conveyed condolences to Nwokike’s family, assuring them of justice for his untimely death. The Association vowed that his killers would not evade punishment, echoing the sentiment that his soul may rest in peace.
