Anambra state Government clarifies rumors on 14,00 levy on tipper drivers

The government of Anambra State have been informed about the activities of some groups of individuals who are carryout operations under unknown and outlawed tipper drivers association in the State who are spreading malicious lies and falsehood against the State government to tipper drivers in the State in particular and the public in general.

According to a statement signed by the Permanent Secretary Ministry of Transport Dr Emman Ude- Akpeh, the intention of those behind the wicked lies and falsehood is to ignite hatred among the tipper drivers and to make the drivers take violent actions thereby bringing a breach to peace and security which Anambra is known for.

According to the statement, Anambra has done no such thing as to impose fourteen thousand naira levy on the drivers. All indigenes are advised to disregard all false rumors concerning this.

It stated the proscription and prohibition of all the activities of the Great Tipper Drivers Association in the State through Executive order number three made by Governor Willie Obiano.

It stated all security agencies in the State to ensure that the peace and security being enjoyed by Ndi Anambra and residents in the State is not threatened or breached in any way by outlawed and unrecognized groups.

The statement released served as a reminder to all tipper drivers in the State that anyone found associating with the proscribed shall be punished properly in accordance with the law.
