The University of Abuja Teaching Hospital (UATH) Gwagwalada Board and Management has renamed the Trauma Centre of the hospital after Nigeria’s first Lady, Aisha Buhari.

The building which was recovered from a Public-Private Partnership(PPP) arrangement has been renovated and furnished by the First Lady.

During the commissioning on Wednesday in the Gwagwalada area of Abuja, the Board and Management of the hospital lauded Aisha Buhari for her kind gesture.

The Board Chairman, Dr Sam Sam Jaja recalls the visit of the first Lady during the commissioning of an Endocrine centre built, donated and commissioned by Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in Nigeria last year in the hospital.

He said the kind gesture by Mrs Buhari has contributed to the provision of health care services to patients in the hospital among many other demands.

Aisha Buhari had promised during the last visit to renovate and furnish the facility, a promise she fulfilled after a year.
