Since his promotion to Bishop last week, Ven. Obiora Uzochukwu has received several commendations and support pledges from various stakeholders and notable individuals in Anambra West.
Bishop Uzochukwu, who hails from Isulo in Orumba South Local Government Area (LGA) began his priestly career at St. John’s Anglican Church, Umueze, Anam, Anambra West before being transferred to St, Faith Church, Onitsha, where he was made the Vicar and appointed a Canon.
In 2014 he was promoted to an Archdeacon and Sub Dean of All Saints Cathedral, Onitsha before his recent promotion to the bishopric. (MOI)
In a felicitation, Member Representing Anambra West constituency in the Anambra State House of Assembly, Mr Patrick Obalum Udoba described the appointment as the Lord’s doing.
He noted that his elevation was by the will of God Almighty.
Obalum described the Bishop Uzochukwu as a dedicated man of God, who had worked relentlessly in the Lord’s vineyard and, as a result, won souls for Christ.
The lawmaker pledged total support to his Episcopal reign and promised to work harmoniously with the Bishop for religious and social development of Anambra West.
Then, he appealed to the Bishop to use his wealth of knowledge and wisdom to advance the development of his locality, praying for him to attain greater heights in his ministry and service to God.
A philanthropist, Chief Michael Okafor-Nwofia described the clergy as a great man of God, who would use his divine knowledge and wisdom to uplift the diocese.
