The member representing Aniocha North Constituency and PDP candidate for Delta State House of Assembly election come 2023, Hon. Engr. Emeka Emmanuel Nwaobi, on Saturday, July 16th, 2022, held his primary election victory tagged “A Day Of Praise”, in Issele-Uku, the headquarters of Aniocha North LGA, in Reverence and Thanksgiving to GOD who made his victory possible.

The Thanksgiving Praise and Worship Concert which the lawmaker held, received massive attendance of people from across various communities in Aniocha North, Delta State and beyond, making Issele-Uku agog with the sounds and beats of the event.

In his emotional testimony for what GOD has continued to do for him, Hon. Nwaobi recounted the rough journeys leading to the House of Assembly primary election and his eventual emergence with 12 votes to defeat his closest rival who polled 11 votes.

He testified that the beauty of the election was how all the 11 aspirants came to an agreement that nobody must do anything to undermine the process and that whoever emerges, others would form a formidable team of support around him.

Thanking GOD for the peace and unity that have continued to prevail in Aniocha North politics since that election, Nwaobi declared that the greatest support and cooperation he is getting today ahead of the general election is coming from the other 10 aspirants that contested against him.

He, therefore, asked for the combined prayers of the men of GOD, for grace and GOD’s guidance in order not to derail from the course of service and quality representation to the people of Aniocha North and by extension Delta State.

His words, “No more crack in Aniocha North politics. I have come to return the glory to GOD in my own way with praise. Because Him alone remains my source of strength and power”.

The sermon for the day was delivered by the CAN Chairman in Aniocha North, Rev. Fr. Innocent Chikamagwa, who was very blunt in addressing politicians to adopt an attitude that does not seek to abandon the ordinary people that have continued to follow them and work for them.

He recounted his encounter with an ordinary person who is a beneficiary of Nwaobi’s kind gesture to the indigent people within Aniocha North while investigating the person of Hon. Nwaobi before agreeing to attend the Thanksgiving programme, adding that otherwise, he does not give a damn about what politicians do.

He said that the testimony of this fellow was encouraging as he kept asking him to pray for Hon. Nwaobi who had made it possible for him to always feed through his monthly allowances to him.

The Catholic Reverend Father, thumbed up to Nwaobi for doing that much to encourage his constituents, thereby praying GOD to empower him more to be able to reach out to more people.

According to him, “Your consultation lies in GOD, and this is why you have GOD as your leading light always to victory. In every testimony there is a test; that is why you were tested, then you came out victorious and now you are here to give thanks to GOD like that one leper.

“I know that you will definitely emerge victorious in the general election. However, more than ever before, I want you to continue to deliver on your promise. You have touched lives, but touch more lives in a way to sustain lives after. This is because, it is not the position that matters but the lives you are able to affect with political representation that matter”, the CAN Chairman admonished.

In his goodwill message, the Director General of the Directorate of Politics and Governance under CAN, Delta State Chapter, Rev. (Dr.) Cyril Okaonye affirmed that Nwaobi’s testimony was inspiring, adding that he understands from day one that power belongs to GOD and that is why he has returned to say thank you, LORD.

He said it has to be GOD to have put one’s faith in 32 delegates with 11 aspirants and then emerged winner with 12 votes without any litigation.

His words, “This means that GOD stood for you at the polls because you are the apple of His eyes. Look at your name, Chukwuemeka (God has done it), Emmanuel (God is with us), Nwaobi (Son of a king). And you also have your political name which is Oji Chukwu Bulu-Uzor (one that puts GOD first). It is your name and your faith in GOD that is clearing your path to victory and it shall continue to be well with you as long as GOD lives”.

Meanwhile, the Directorate of Politics and Governance (DPG) endorsed Hon. Nwaobi’s candidature for the House of Assembly election in 2023, with the affirmation, that having looked around, he has remained the best and most capable to represent the people of Aniocha North Constituency again.

The Christian group decorated him as the Ambassador of DPG and charged him to join forces with the Christian Movement to change the political narratives of Nigeria, with a statement from Pastor Leonard Azomani that “There was a sleeping giant that has now woken up, and that is the Christian community, now with a mandate to take over the political leadership structure of Nigeria”.

The high point of the ceremony was the unveiling of the legendary Gospel music minister, Pastor Buchi, alongside other ministers like the BBS and the Heavenly Caterers, the Success and the Praise Team, etc.

The occasion was attended by the former House of Representatives member and DG Delta State Capital Territory Development Agency, Hon. Joan Onyemaechi, the former Delta State Accountant General, Mr. Cyril Agbele, the former Chairman of Delta State House of Assembly Service Commission, Barr. (Mrs) Josephine Ada Kachikwu, the member representing Oshimili South Constituency in DTHA, Hon. Shadrach Rapu, former Majority Leader of DTHA, Hon.
