More Love, Less Ego: Wizkid Reveals Plan to Change Choice of Lyrics, Emulate Bob Marley

Nigerian top-rated singer and songwriter Ayodeji Balogun popularly known as Wizkid has yet again proved he is the king of Afrobeats as he released his much anticipated album titled “More Love, Less Ego” on Thursday.

Recall that Wizkid deleted his tweet announcing the release of the album when his colleague, David Adeleke a.k.a Davido lost his son, Ifeanyi

More Love, Less Ego is a love-themed 13-track album and Wizkid’s 5th. The Album is a follow-up to “Made in Lagos” which was nominated in the 2020 Grammy Awards in the category of the Best Global Music Album and had over a billion streams. 

Wizkid sang about love, affections and keeping bad energy away in the newly released album which features top-talented artistes including Ayra Starr, Skepta, Naira Marley, Don Toliver, Skillibeng and Shenseea . 

Following his new album, the multiple-award winner revealed his decision to change his choice of lyrics subsequently because of his children. According to him, his kids listens to his songs.

Speaking on the title of the album, “More Love, Less Ego”, he said, not only is he on a journey to managing his ego, he has also decided to show how God has blessed him with his talent and what he can do with it through his new choice of lyrics. 

He talked about his recent encounter with late Bob Marley’s musical ‘Get Up, Stand Up!’ and his plan to emulate the legend.

” I recently went to see Bob Marley’s musical, ‘Get Up, Stand Up!’ I was like, ‘Yo, we’re watching a Bob Marley play, and this guy died decades ago. Bob Marley did so much at a young age I didn’t even know that he died at 36. It just reaffirms what I do, and I have to keep taking this to the highest heights. Because I know one day, they are definitely going to create a play about me.”

Wizkid added that his plan is to produce songs that will live forever in the hearts of his fans like Bob Marley.
