Adeola Ogunmola Sowemimo, an indigene of Ogbomosho from the pacesetter city, Oyo State is the First Nigerian woman to fly a Boeing 787.
She’s a graduate from the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, in Ogbomosho and she’s such an inspiration to young and old women alike.
In 2011, Adeola started her aviation career and procured her Commercial Pilot License from Sunrise Aviation School at Ormond Beach, Florida.
She started out as an officer on the Boeing 737 classic in 2013 when she joined MedView Airlines in Abuja. She also bagged a promotion which enabled her fly the Boeing 767-300ER.
In October 2018, Adeola joined Qatar Airways and became the First Nigerian woman to fly the Boeing 787 Dreamliner across the Atlantic Ocean.
An outstanding pioneer and well revered inspiration to all African women, Adeola Ogunmola Sowemimo has shown that, as a woman; irrespective of where you come from if you work hard, you are capable of achieving incredible feats.
