Governor Willie Obiano Appoints 10 New Permanent Secretaries of State

In order to strengthen the Civil Service, Governor Willie asserted to the appointment of 10 new permanent secretaries of the state.

The new appointees as stated in a circular signed by the Head of Service, Harry Udu are; Dr Christy Obiano, Ndidi Onuigbo, Dr Chiedozie Okafor, Chinedu Ike and Ebele Okonkwo. Others are; Anuli Iwouno, Theodora Igbwegbe, Mrs Ifeyinwa Uzoka, Edwin Uzochukwu and Anthony Idigo.

It was included in the statement that the appointment took effect from the 1st of December, 2021.

The governor expressed his shock and sadness with the abrupt loss of former Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Anambra State, Chinedu Nwonta who died on the 4th of January while battling an ailment and described his demise as a “cruel blow in the new year” leaving the people of Anambra mourning so early in the year.

The governor described Mr Chinedu as a humanist, a great party man and a lover of life whose rare touch lit up surfaces far and near.  He said “We have lost a great man; a proud Igbo man and a great son of Anambra State. He was passionate about everything he did, self-driven and forward-looking.

His death is a blow to our party and a huge loss to Anambra. We shall miss him sorely.”
