Filling station in Anambra Community engulfed by fire while offloading DPK

At about 3:pm on the 21st of February 2021, there was a fire outbreak at Daymaker filling station Aguleri roundabout in Anambra East LGA of Anambra State.

The fire allegedly emanated from the tanker laden with DPK(Kerosene) inside the filling station while discharging its content. As a result, the truck was gutted by fire which razed down some parts of the filling station.

Police operatives led by DPO Otoucha Division CSP Etah Baba and other Sister Security Agencies quickly moved to the scene and cordoned off the Area to prevent looting and further catastrophe.

The Fire Service was equally contacted and they responded swiftly. Meanwhile, no loss of life and no injury have been reported. Investigation is still currently ongoing to ascertain circumstances surrounding the incident.

The Commissioner of Police CP Monday Bala Kuryas,fsi appealed to all filling station owners to always make use of safety precaution while offloading fuel in order to prevent similar devastating incidents which could also lead to loss of lives and injuries especially during this harmattan period.
