Anaku-Anambra State Government sets to complete the ongoing Rehabilitation of Igbariam Junction-Anaku Section on the Onitsha-Adani Road.
This was revealed by Mr Marcel Ifejiofor, the Commissioner for Works and an Engineer when he inspected the level of work at the site.
Ifejiofor appreciated Gov. Willie Obiano for remembering the Anyamelum people, saying that though it was a federal road and yet the state government embarked on its rehabilitation in order to offer relief to the long-suffering people of the area.
“This road leads to Nsukka and Obolo Afor in Enugu State, as well as Benue State and as such it is very strategic.’’
The commissioner said that Ayamelum was strategic because it was one of the food baskets of the state.
“The rehabilitation is to add economic value to the agrarian community in the area.’’
He commended the quality of the job done on the road by the Nigeria Army Engineers.
“This road was awarded to one of our most competent contractors, the Nigeria Army Engineers. You can attest to it with the quality of the asphalting on this road,’’
The project manager of the Nigeria Army Engineers, Brig-Gen. Yakubu Musa thanked the state government for entrusting such a critical project to them, promising that they would deliver on schedule and according to specification.
