Master Chukwuebuka Aneke, of Grundtvig Institute Oba, has been crowned the winner of the first prize in the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission annual essay competition.
The competition had in participation SS two students from both public and private schools in Nigeria. The topic of the essay competition was: “The Importance of Maintaining Health and Safety in the Use of Electricity”.
The first Prize award plaque, along with a cheque for five hundred thousand naira, was presented to Master Chukwuebuka by the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission Chairman, Mr. Sanusi Garba, at the award ceremony held at Electricity Regulatory Commission Headquarters, Abuja on the 23rd of February,2021.
Speaking at the ceremony, the Electricity Regulatory Commission Chairman said that Master Chukwuebuka is the first student from a school in the Southeast to win its Annual Essay Competition, adding that the essays were marked by the West African Examinations Council WAEC.
An award plaque was also presented to the school and received by one of the English teachers, Mr Ifeanyi Ossai, along with prizes for both the teacher and the school.
