Senator Mao Ohuabunwa, the PDP candidate for the senatorial seat in Abia North stated on Sunday that “Rugalisation of Abia North”, and the Muslim-Muslim ticket by the All Progressive Congress(APC) has made the party not considerable for the people of Abia North in the 2023 elections. He stated this on Sunday while he was speaking to stakeholders of PDP from Isuikwuato/Umunneochi federal constituency.

In the meeting, Senator Mao censured the perilous activities of kidnappers in Abia North and also indicted the incumbent administration led by APC. He summoned the APC led government to reveal their efforts and progress in order to put a stop to the ravaging insecurity in the district. He also censured the despicable state of federal roads in the zone, he said he regretted fighting hard to get the Ohafia-Arochukwu road captured in the 2019 budget only to have it abandoned after his exit.

He also said that those who introduced ‘Ruga’ to Abia North, had “suddenly gone underground now that the policy is about ruining the peace that has been in the district. He said ” Instead of making efforts to quench the fire they ignited, they are busy pursuing shadow, promoting Muslim-Muslim ticket, and voting against electronic transfer of election results”.

The PDP senatorial candidate pleaded with the stakeholders to mobilize indigenes in their wards “against those who have used their position to do nothing while Abia North is in pain”.
Senator Ohuabunwa assured that the dignity of the zone would be restored under PDP. Mao, who amassed support for candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party from the presidential level to grassroot levels, asked the stakeholders to play their role in delivering people in their districts for the 2023 elections.

Senator Mao identified his achievements and also reiterated that the zone had gone voiceless since his decision to leave the senate in 2019. He urged the stakeholders to ensure that unity and hard work must never be lost if the zone will be reclaimed.

Other speakers including the PDP candidate for Isuikwuato/ Umunneochi federal constituency, Loveth Ofoegbu, Hon. Monday Ajaegbo, among others, displayed gratitude to Senator Ohuabunwa and pleaded every member to co-operate to ensure the victory of PDP in 2023.
