The Anambra State taskforce team on COVID-19 safety protocols has commenced aggressive awareness drive within Awka and environs, warning residents against breaching the safety guidelines such as the compulsory wearing of face mask, social distancing, and provision of handwashing materials at public places amongst other measures.
The team embarked their purposeful mission from Nkwo Amaenyi Market, through to Eke Awka by Zik Avenue, up to Amawbia through to UNIZIK Temporary Site by expressway including Club Road, warning people to strictly comply with the safety protocols to avoid the long arm of the law.

As reported by some members of the task force team, a mobile court has been set up for a trial of those, who violate the safety measures. The penalty fine is ten thousand naira, community service or even both. All these measures were put in place to prevent the second wave of the virus from having dare consequence on the state.
The state government has however reactivated a lot of measures in noticing the second wave of the virus affecting different parts of the world, including putting a curfew in place, and a series of other measures.
