Actress Omowunmi Dada Resumes Lecturing Role At Michigan University

Actress Omowunmi has commenced her teaching role at the University of Michigan in the United States.

She was chosen as one of the global artists in residence at the African Studies Center (ASC) and the Department of Afro-American and African Studies (DAAS) of the university.

On Monday, the Eleshin Oba actress shared her first day at work with her Instagram followers. She also posted a video documenting her journey from the school entrance to her office and then to her classes.

“Today, we dived into the captivating world of African stories and Nollywood, sparking thought-provoking conversations!

“Brimming with excitement as I prepare to ignite a thirst for knowledge during my upcoming residency classes,” she wrote.

The movie star announced her appointment in an Instagram post on October 27.

An excited Omowunmi said she could not “wait to share the beauty of the rich African culture and the incredible journey of Nollywood with everyone! #GlobalArtistInResidence #NollywoodRepresent”.

She wrote: “GRACE GRACE GRACE. I am absolutely honoured to be named the 2023 Global Artist in Residence at the African Studies Center (ASC) and the Department of Afro-American and African Studies (DAAS) of the University of Michigan, USA!


“I’ll be working with DAAS language instructors to develop audio-visual materials for teaching African languages, while also engaging with the U-M campus community and local schools.”

Other notable figures such as Mo Abudu, Mercy Aigbe, Kazim Adeoti, Juliana Olayode, Judith Audu, Gabriel Afolayan, Muyiwa Ademola, Kunle Remi, Bisola Ayieola, and Aisha Lawal extended their congratulations within the post’s comment section.
