Anambra State Police Operatives have arrested two persons suspected to have been involved in clashes between rival cult groups in the early hours of 28th March, 2021, along Ifite Awka , Ziks Avenue in Awka South LGA, which led to the death of two yet unidentified young men, whose bodies have been deposited in the mortuary for preservation and autopsy.
A report by the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Ikenga Tochukwu, discloses that adequate security have been taken to forestall further escalation of the incidence, while full-scale investigation to determine the culpability or otherwise of the two (2) arrested persons as well as arrest fleeing members of the cult groups, has commenced.

Following several complaints of burglary/house breaking into living rooms, shops, malls, etc, snatching of bags, phones, other personal effects, amongst other acts crime and criminality; Police Operatives attached to Okopoko Division on the 25th of March, 2021, while on routine patrol along Upper Iweka, arrested four male suspects namely; 24 year old Obumneme Ugwu , 25 year old Uchenna Udeh , 19 year old Ani Amechi and 21 year old Isreal Isaac.
Preliminary investigation revealed that the suspects are members of a notorious criminal gang that has been tormenting people in the area lately.
Discreet investigation is ongoing to arrest and bring to book other members of the criminal gang on the run as all the suspects would be charged to court on conclusion of investigations.
To this end, the Commissioner of Police, CP Monday Bala Kuryas while reiterating the commitment of the Command not to spare unrepentant criminal elements in the State, has enjoined Ndi Anambra not to hesitate in providing useful and timely information that can assist the Police in its operations.
