In a grand and elegant celebration, Brittany Chinenye Ifejika, the daughter of Emmanuel Ifejika and Catherine Uju Ifejika, Chairperson/CEO of Brittania-U, tied the knot with her heartthrob, Chinedu Emmanuel Atanmo on Saturday, December 9, 2023.

The wedding ceremony which took place over the weekend at the prestigious Eko Hotel and Suites in Lagos, drew the presence of eminent figures spanning the realms of politics and entertainment.

Notable personalities in attendance included Vice-President Kashim Shettima, Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party in the 2023 general election, and Alex Otti, the governor of Abia state.

In addition, the guest list extended to encompass prominent figures such as Obi of Onitsha, Igwe Alfred Achebe, Agbogidi (who was the Father of the Day); Ooni of Ife,  Ooni Adeyeye Ogunwusi; former minister of labour and employment, Chris Ngige, and lawyer Mike Ozekhome.

Others who graced the occasion were Senator Daisy Danjuma, Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu (the First Lady of Lagos state), Wale Edun (minister of finance), Hajia Titi Abubakar, Ado Bayero, Olu Okeowo, Cosmas Maduka, and Managing Director Inlandtown New Media, Austin Areh. 

Also sharing in the couple’s joy were the Onitsha Improvement Union Lagos Chapter, the Onitsha Professionals Lagos Chapter, Onitsha Community, and Ogidi Community, where the bride is from, all of which were ably represented at the event.

Adding musical flavour to the celebration, highlife singer Chinedu Okoli, popularly known as Flavor Na’bania, serenaded the wedding guests with his chart-topping songs. While Okechukwu Anthony Onyegbule, a.k.a Okey Bakassi guided the proceedings with finesse.

The couple, Chinenye and Chinedu, had previously celebrated their traditional wedding on Tuesday, November 28 at Harbor Point  Event Centre, Victoria Island, Lagos.

Catherine Uju Ifejika, a distinguished lawyer and oil magnate from Onitsha, Anambra State, holds a significant position as one of the most influential women in the oil and gas sector and stands among the wealthiest women in Africa. She holds the title of the richest woman in Anambra State.

Recognized for her outstanding business leadership, Uju has earned numerous national and international awards. She is a member of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators of Nigeria (ICSAN) and a fellow of the Institute of Arbitration and Conciliation.

Catherine Uju Ifejika is the Chairman/CEO of Brittania – U Nigeria Limited, a Nigeria-based affiliate of the oil and gas company Brittania-U Group – a position she has held for over 15 years, The name Brittain- U is a coinage of her daughter’s name, Britanny and her name Uju. 

Her journey in the oil and gas sector commenced during her National Youth Service Corps at Texaco, where she was subsequently retained and later joined Chevron. Her extensive career includes roles as a Junior Counsel, a two-year tenure at Texaco Overseas Petroleum Unlimited, and reaching the position of Acting Chief Counsel by 1991. This diverse experience spans both upstream and downstream aspects of the petroleum industry.

Apart from Brittania-U Nigeria, Uju Ifejika has founded Data Appraisal Co. Ltd. (2001), Nexttee Oil & Gas Trading Co. Nigeria Ltd. (2009), and Brittania-U Ghana Limited (2010).

Being an indigenous enterprise, Brittania-U Nigeria has collaborated closely with local Nigerian communities, actively employing locals, and participating in community development initiatives. 

According to Uju Ifejika, the main goals of Brittania-U encompass the well-being of people, improved quality of life, job creation, and fostering a safe and clean environment.
