Ooni Of Ife, Oba Saheed Elegushi To Grace Ayan-Agalu Festival In Canada

The inaugural Drum Festival, Ayan-Agalu Festival, a prestigious and epoch-making cultural event, is set to take place on Friday, July 28, at Fuzion Banquet Hall in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada.

Prince Segun Akanni, the festival’s convener, expressed that the event promises an abundance of side attractions as tourists and visitors will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in the opulent cultural heritage of Africa, enjoying captivating entertainment throughout the festivities.

The theme of the festival is “Rejigging Yoruba cultural heritage as a catalyst for national and international unity, progress, and development — The Ayangalu example.”

In his words, “Arrangements have been put in place to welcome cultural aficionados and tourists from all over the world who will attend the inaugural edition of the Drum Festival in Canada.”

Akanni said that the festival will showcase the richness of African culture in drums, music, dance, and other displays.

Distinguished dignitaries set to grace the occasion encompass a notable lineup, including Mr. Justin Trudeau, the esteemed Prime Minister of Canada; Doug Ford, the Premier of Ontario; Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State; Oba Enitan Ogunwusi Adeyeye, the revered Ooni of Ife; Oba Saheed Ademola Elegushi of Ikateland; and Gerry Weiner, the former Canadian Immigration Minister and Secretary of State for Canada.

Additionally, the event will be graced by esteemed Federal and Provincial Ministers, as well as esteemed Mayors including Mayor Patrick Brown of Brampton, Mayor Bonnie Crombie of Mississauga, and Mayor Olivia Chow of Toronto. Furthermore, eminent government functionaries from various African nations, including Nigeria, Ghana, Togo, Benin Republic, and other African countries, will also be in attendance.

According to the convener, important highlight of the event would be presentation of African Festival Award to individuals and monarchs who have over the years distinguished themselves in their respective fields of human endeavors.
