The organizers of Nigeria’s prominent polo sports and cultural tourism festival, the Argungu Polo Tournament and Cultural Festival, have officially declared the dates for its 8th edition.
The event is scheduled to take place in Argungu, Kebbi State, from September 7th to 9th, 2023.
The polo festival is a multinational event, with teams from Nigeria and neighboring West African countries, including Niger and Benin Republic.
The Turakin Kebbi and Patron of NSK Polo Ranch and Resort, Nura Sani Kangiwa, confirmed this statement in Abuja on a Wednesday. The declaration was officially communicated by Mr. Joesef Karim, the Public Relations Officer, acting on behalf of the 2023 Argungu Polo Tournament and Cultural Fete Planning Committee.
The NSK Polo Ranch and Resort holds the franchise for the polo festival and is responsible for organizing the event in Nigeria. Concurrently, Turaki Nura Kangiwa serves as both the President of the Nigeria Polo Federation (NPF) and the Director General of the National Institute for Hospitality and Tourism (NIHOTOUR).
“I can confirm to you that the 2023 Argungu Polo Tournament and Cultural Fete will hold from September 7th to 9th 2023, in Argungu, Kebbi State.
“For the 8th edition of the Festival, we will feature more top-tier Polo teams, showcase diverse traditional sports and sundry cultural entertainment indigenous to the ancient Argungu Kingdom and Northern Nigeria, including traditional wrestling, camel racing, horse racing, folk dancing, bullfighting, and display of Northern Nigeria’s culinary arts,” said Turaki Kangiwa.
The NSK Polo Ranch and Resort, located on Sokoto Road in Argungu town, Kebbi State, serves as the esteemed host venue for this year’s Polo Tournament and Cultural Festival.
