Herbert and Zelmyra knew what they were doing when they shared the marital vow, “…to have and to hold from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, until death do us part. I will love and honor you all the days of my life” in 1924.

Of course, life in the 1920s was challenging for many people, and having a hard-working and resourceful husband like Herbert would have made a big difference for his family.

His job at Coca-Cola Bottling in 1924 and his ability to build a house with his own hands show his dedication and determination to provide for his family.

What a fantastic life they lived!

What God has joined together let no man put asunder.

They spent their entire lives in the beautiful home where they raised their incredible five children.
