The inaugural World Culture Film Festival commences in Los Angeles on Thursday, launching a four-day celebration dedicated to showcasing films that inspire, educate, and celebrate diverse cultures.
The festival opens with the Oscar-shortlisted dramedy “The Monk and the Gun,” directed by Pawo Choyning Dorji. This Bhutanese filmmaker, known for his 2022 Academy Award-nominated film “Lunana: A Yak in the Classroom,” will participate in a Q&A session following the screening.
The event concludes with Wim Wenders’ Oscar-nominated “Perfect Days,” a poignant drama featuring Koji Yakusho as Hirayama, a man who meticulously cleans Tokyo’s public toilets, celebrated for their immaculate condition.
