Wizkid Breaks Record: First Artist to Hit 1 Billion Album Streams

Grammy award-winning singer Wizkid on October 10, 2021 has broken a new record in Africa, becoming the first African artist to hit 1 billion album streams across all streaming platforms with his album “Made in Lagos.

It’s been less than a year since the release of the album, yet the album has shot Wizkid even bigger making the album the highest charting African album on the Billboard 200 yet.

According to data gathered, the album has garnered 322 million streams on Apple Music, 229 million streams on Spotify, 227 million streams on YouTube, and over 140 million streams on Audiomack.
