Will Smith is returning to the music stage, and this time, he’s heading to Morocco. The Hollywood actor and rapper will perform on June 25 at the OLM Souissi stage during the 2025 edition of the Mawazine Festival.

The festival, which runs from June 20 to June 28, will also mark the start of Smith’s European tour.

Now in its 20th edition, Mawazine has grown into one of the largest music festivals in the world. It began in 2001 and welcomes over 2.5 million attendees each year. Smith’s appearance is one of the most anticipated performances of this year’s festival, as it marks a rare return to music after decades of focusing on film.

Before taking over Hollywood, Will Smith made his name in music as one half of the hip-hop duo DJ Jazzy Jeff & The Fresh Prince. The pair became early success stories in mainstream rap, winning a Grammy for “Parents Just Don’t Understand” and later dropping the classic anthem “Summertime.” Smith’s solo career followed, producing global hits like “Men in Black,” “Wild Wild West,” and “Gettin’ Jiggy wit It.”

His upcoming performance in Rabat is expected to draw fans of his 90s-era sound and a new generation of music lovers curious about his early roots. For many, this is more than just a concert—it’s a cultural moment that brings together music, nostalgia, and star power.

Smith won’t be the only major artist lighting up the Mawazine stage this year. Kid Cudi is set to perform on June 23 at the same venue. Other big names in this edition include 50 Cent, Becky G, Julian Marley, Salif Keita, and the K-pop group aespa.

Salif Keita, known as the Golden Voice of Mali, will perform on June 27 at the Bouregreg stage. The festival also features African stars such as Yemi Alade, Cheikh Lô, Etuk Ubong, and ElGrandeToto, showcasing the richness of African music.

With over 90 per cent of its concerts offering free access, Mawazine remains committed to making music accessible and promoting cultural exchange on a global scale.
