Vive Africa has opened nominations for the second edition of Face of Education Africa, an initiative often described as the “Forbes 30 Under 30” of the education sector.
The program highlights changemakers across the continent who are using education in diverse ways to drive initiatives, create opportunities, promote idea sharing, and expand access to knowledge.
Nominations are open from July 1 to 15, 2025. During this period, members of the public are encouraged to nominate individuals who have made remarkable use of education, whether formal or informal, to create impact in their communities or beyond.
According to Isime Esene, Lead Consultant at Vive Africa and Co-Chair of the Face of Education Independent Selection Committee, the initiative aims to celebrate young leaders who see education as more than a means to personal growth. He noted that it is also about building a future defined by development and collective progress. By spotlighting their work, the initiative not only honours excellence but also reminds us that education is still one of the most powerful tools for transformation in Africa.
Final selections will be made by the Independent Selection Committee based on criteria such as social impact, scale, influence, vision, and potential.
The first edition, held in 2023, featured standout names such as Sim Shagaya, Group CEO of uLesson Group and Chancellor at Miva Open University in Nigeria; Teresa Mbagaya, Principal at Imaginable Futures in Kenya; and Mike Skosana, Co-Founder and Director of Crystal MG Trading and Projects in South Africa, along with changemakers from six other countries.
Face of Education Africa is powered by Vive Africa, a boutique marketing communications agency focused on highlighting education as a catalyst for accelerated growth.
