Onitsha the commercial city of Anambra State witnessed rains of bullet by unidentified gun men at the Bridge Head Drug Market former as Onitsha Patent and Proprietary Medicine Dealers Union, (OPPMDU), Onitsha on Saturday, November 23, 2019 which left over 10 people injured and destroyed goods worth large sum of money.
According to news gathered by Sunday Vanguard, the chaos started at about 12:50pm on Saturday afternoon when some fully armed youths supposedly led by contestant of anti-fake and substandard drug taskforce Chairman for the market, known as Anambra State Taskforce against Fake and Counterfeit Drug raided the market,
Mr Chibuzor Nwokege popularly known as Obele Prince was the leader of the taskforce before his removal by the former Commissioner for Commerce, Trade and Wealth Creation, Dr. Christian Madubuko and replaced with Mr Emeka Ezeanyika.
Obele Prince has been kicking against his substitution and working tremendously to gain his way back to the office, and while his successor Mr Ezeanyika is said to be favorably disposed with Dr. Madubuko who on his new appointment as the state Commissioner for Transport, handed him over to his successor, Mr Uchenna Okafor.
