In line with the need to reduce the number of Nigerians who may be pushed into poverty and acts of criminality, the Trade Union Congress (TUC) has appealed to the Federal Government to expediently carry out bold reforms, robust fiscal and monetary policy actions.
This was revealed by Comrade Quadri Olaleye, the TUC President over the weekend at the World Day for Decent Work, organized by the Association of Senior Staff of Banks, Insurance, and other Financial Institutions in Lagos.
Comrade Olaleye urged all employers in the public and private sectors to give attention to human resources as it remains one of the critical ways to bring back economic growth and build a new global economy.
While identifying Nigeria as a mono-economy, Comrade Olaleye moped at the collapse of international oil prices, which according to him is responsible for the increase in the number of Nigerians living in poverty.
