National Leader of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Bola Ahmed Tinubu has stated that he will find a date to openly tell Nigerians about his intention to run in the 2023 presidential election.
Tinubu made this known at a closed-door meeting held with Northern elders under the aegis of the Northern Alliance Committee yesterday in Abuja. Tinubu fielded questions from newsmen at the end of the parley and acknowledged that he is already consulting widely with stakeholders in the party on his alleged aspirations to administer the country.
The former Lagos State Governor said, “I’m not going to turn them (Nigerians) down, but I will still effectively and widely consult, particularly brainstorm with my friends and find a date to come out openly and tell Nigerians,” Tinubu told journalists.

“But the president is still in office, I don’t want to distract him from all the challenges that he might face today.
“So we will consult and make our programme known to the people later and the intention is clear. So you keep guessing,” Tinubu said.
In his response, the Chairman of the elders’ group, Amb. Lawal Mohammed Munir the group are working in favour of the national leader because they are optimistic he will come out victorious. “The meeting ended very well. We are working for him. We are working for him because we know he will win the election when the time comes,” Munir said.
