Three students from Dowen College, Lekki, have been arrested over the death of Sylvester Oromoni Junior, a 12-year-old student of the college.
The announcement was made by the Commissioner of Police in Lagos State, who said the three students undergoing interrogation were among the five students mentioned by Sylvester before he died. Speaking to Channels Television on Tuesday, Odumosu insisted that the arrested students were the main suspects and cooperating with the police in their findings.
However, he did not give the identities of the students in their custody. The police commissioner explained that the Command was set to go for a post mortem of the body in Delta State to ascertain the cause of death.
Odumosu therefore assured that the police authorities in both Lagos and Delta states were profoundly interested in the result of the investigation to unravel the mystery behind Sylvester’s death.
Meanwhile, it was gathered by the Lagos State government through its Ministry of Education, which paid an inquiry visit to the college and announced on Friday that the school be shut down indefinitely. The pupils and their parents, who were invited for questioning at the homicide section of the police unit, are expected to report today.
