Following the recent killings of persons and livestock in Ukpomachi village, Awkuzu, the Students Union Government of the Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University, Igbariam campus, has urged students of the institution not to panic. He assured them that as adequate arrangements have been made to ensure improved security in the area.
Following this, the Union called for security consciousness among the students at all times, and advised those living around the crime scene to consider temporal relocation to safer places.
On the other hand, giving the discovery of the dead bodies with matchet cuts, which Police source said are nine in number, people, mostly students living in hostels around the area have continued to relocate in droves, despite assurances of safety by the Government, security agencies and the University management.
