Aliyu Marafa, the Emir of Yandoton Daji in Tsafe Local Government of Zamfara State has been suspended by the Zamfara state government, for giving a chieftaincy title to a wanted notorious bandit kingpin, Ado Aleru.
The Emir appointed Aleru as Sarkin Fulani (The King of Fulani) of Yandoton Daji Emirate on Saturday 16th July, 2022.
Allegedly, Ado Aleru is the infamous leader of deadly insubordinate group terrorizing many communities in Zamfara and Kastina States.
He was said to be wanted by the Katsina State Police Command in 2019 with a N5m bounty placed on him.
According to premium times, the Emirate Council stated that the title was given to Aleru to ensure peace returns to the communities and that it was done with the approval of the state and local governments.
However, in a statement by the Zamfara State government, Kabiru Balarabe said that he didn’t approve the turbaning of Aleru.
Due to these changes, the Zamfara government disclosed the suspension of the Emir, while also organizing a committee, dedicated to investigating the reason for this unlawful development.
The Zamfara state government has also approved the District Head of ‘Yandoto, Alh. Mahe Garba Marafa, who is to take charge of the affairs of the Emirate.
They is to disclose to the general public that the Zamfara State Government has nothing to do with the alleged turbaning of Ado Aleru, as a Sarkin Fulani by the Emir of Birnin ‘Yandoto of Tsafe Local Government Area.
In this regard, the State Executive Governor, Hon. Bello Mohammed Matawalle, MON (Shattiman Sokoto) has ordered for the immediate suspension of the current Emir of Zamfara.

According to PM news, the District Head of ‘Yandoto, Alh. Mahe Garba Marafa, has been assigned to oversee of the affairs of the Emirate, in the meantime.
