Temporary Shutdown of Filling Stations in Onitsha

Motorist in Onitsha have complained bitterly about the hike in transport fares due to the shutdown of many filling stations at very early hours of the morning, this action to shut down the stations was presided by the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria(IPMAN).

Some of the filling stations shut down include Total and Oando along New Market road,J.I.Ejison and NNPC Mega station along Awka road and Seaman by Borromew roundabout Onitsha

NAN members claimed to have come across a a text message which was circulated notifying the public on the intended closure with the need not to panic as it was caused by a leadership crisis in Enugu IPMAN.The Chairman of Petroleum Dealers Association of Nigeria(PEDAN) confirmed the shutdown, Mr Obi Okafor said the shutdown would persist until there was counter-directive to members from the Enugu Depot office.
