Anambra State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Monday Kuryas and the Commander, 302 Artillery Regiment of Nigeria Army, Onitsha have sympathized with the people of Ayamelum council area over criminal activities of suspected herdsmen in the area.

The Security Chiefs expressed their sympathy, when they paid a visit to the traditional ruler of Omor, Ayamelum Local Government Area, Igwe Dr. Chris Chidume over the kidnap of the President General of the Community,Ā  Barrister Francis Onwuachi.

Condoling with the people of the council area, Mr. Kuryas expressed dismay over the sad incident disclosing that security agencies have embarked on the assessment of all flash points in the area and have commenced full manhunt of the criminals aimed at rescuingĀ  the President General of the community and reuniting him withĀ  his family unhurt.

While asking forĀ  information that will aid security operatives in the job, Mr. Kuryas appealed to stakeholders in the community to continue to sue for peace in their communities, promising that a joint task force of security agencies has been stationed in the council area to ensure that normalcy returns.

Contributing, the Commander, 302 Artillery Regiment of Nigeria Army, Onitsha, Colonel Abudulsalam Sambo pointed out that security is a collective responsibility of all and as such all should be vigilant and provide the security officers with credible information that will aid the fight againstĀ  crimes and criminality.

He reminded all that two wrongs do not make a right, and advised them against tasking laws into their hands.

Responding, Igwe Chidume expressed shock over the disheartening news of the kidnap of the President General, saying that the community strongly believes in the security architecture of the state and is hopeful that the state government will prioritize the search for their son.
